Russian marquetry piece of a simple scene. Beautifully made. It’s been polished, still has what might be water damage, as you can see.
I tried my darndest to translate the back text: Kaluga Regional Executive Committee, factory “Zarya", Panel towards Art. KG-117-01 (495 direction) TU-58-68 Price: 8-80 1123. With more research, couldn’t find much, except that marquetry itself was very popular for a time (the use of veneers to create a flat piece).
Chip on top left. 10.5”W x 18.5”T x 3/8in thick.
