History! The Federal Glass Company, founded in Columbus, OH in 1900, started its operations making pressed glass with mold-etched patterns. The company was a leader in producing what is commonly referred to as Depression glass. By the 1920s, Federal Glass was well known for its glassware, barware + unique glass items for the home. Its hallmark is an F inside a shield + is located on the bottoms of most of its glassware. Over the years, the company sold millions of manufactured glass pieces + operated plants in Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. While prolific, Federal Glass closed its operations in 1980.
